Service:

Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Paradise Baptist Church, 1520 Nineth Ave., Rock Island, Illinois 61201.
Officiating will be: Rev. Lorenzo Turner.
Music provided by: various soloists.
Interment will be in the Chippiannock Cemetery, 2901 Twelfth Street, Rock Island, Illinois.
Pallbearers: nephews.

Bytha Mae (Turner) Walker passed away at her home in Vandalia, with family at her side at 8:55 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013. Bytha was a Vandalia High School graduate and attended the Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Vandalia. Besides being a homemaker, she had worked as a food service worker for many years. Bytha enjoyed thrift store shopping, fishing, camping and cooking.

Born: November 16, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of William T. and Effe (Crumb) Turner.

Married: Joe Louis Walker, who survives.

Survivors include: husband, Joe of Vandalia; one son, William K. Cole of Vandalia; three brothers: Melvin Lindsey of Jackson, Michigan; Lorenzo Turner and William Turner Jr. both of Pontiac, Michigan; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by: parents; three brothers: Rodney Hamilton, Dessilane Wright and Isaish Turner; one sister, Betty Sue Morris.

Memorials are encouraged to Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 907 W. Home Street, Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
