Beulah Bell (Fitzpatrick) Mitchell passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. She had attended area country schools and grew up in the Monroe City and Vandalia/Farber areas. After her husband got out of the service, they bought a farm north of Vandalia where they lived most of their adult lives. Beulah had worked for the garment and shoe factories in the area for several years along with being a loving homemaker on the farm. She was a member of the Hays Creek Christian Church and she enjoyed country music, sewing, crochet, fishing and spending time with her family.
Born: July 17, 1925 in rural Monroe City, Missouri the daughter of Curtis Marion and Olla Bell (Hill) Fitzpatrick.
Married: Walter Eugene Mitchell on February 22, 1941 in Hannibal, Missouri; he preceded her in death on June 6, 2002.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol and husband, Eugene Kirtlink of rural Perry, Missouri and Barbara and husband, Mike Potter of rural Vandalia, Missouri; one brother, Charles and wife, Emma Fitzpatrick of rural Vandalia, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Larry and wife, Mary Beth Kirtlink of Center, Missouri; Beth and husband, John Overstreet of Grain Valley, Missouri; Angela and husband, Bruce Duesterhaus of Fowler, Illinois; Tammy and husband, Joe Saitta of Leawood, Kansas; Shawna and husband, Owen Roberts of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; Chad and wife, Clarissa James of Decater, Texas; Alan and wife, Amanda Kirtlink of Columbia, Missouri and Aron Potter of Joplin, Missouri; 14 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Shane and Cassandra Kirtlink of Center; Joshua and Lauren Overstreet of Grain Valley; Megan and Cole Duesterhaus of Fowler, Illinois; Alexandra and Alice Roberts of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; Ava, Sophia and Annabella Saitta of Leawood, Kansas; Chloe and Cassidy James of Decater, Texas; also survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris Allen and Betty Davis of Vandalia, Missouri.
Preceded in death by: parents and three brothers, Earl Fitzpatrick, Rex Fitzpatrick and a brother who died in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Hays Creek Cemetery Association.
