Service:

Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri 63382.
Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Music provided by: selected favorite hymns.
Interment will be in the Farber Cemetery.

Betty (McCollum) Easley passed away unexpectedly at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, August 11, 2008 at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Betty was a lifelong Vandalia resident and a 1949 graduate of Vandalia High School. After high school, she attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for two years where she met the love of her life, Frank E. Easley. Betty was a homemaker and long-time member of the Southside Baptist Church in Vandalia, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school. She was also the caretaker of the church for many years. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, cooking, sewing, her cats and watching television.

Born: October 28, 1931 in Vandalia, Missouri the daughter of John Wesley and Anabel (Lowry) McCollum.

Married: Frank E. Easley on June 9, 1951 in Vandalia, Missouri; she survives at the home.

Survivors include: husband, Frank of Vandalia; two sons: Glenn E. and wife, Mary Easley of Columbia, Missouri and Roger E. and wife, Diane Easley of Decatur, Georgia; one brother: James K. and wife, Barbara McCollum of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister-in-law: Nadine McCollum of Michigan; four grandchildren: Matthew Easley of Washington, D.C.; Sarah Easley of Columbia, Missouri; Michelle Easley and Daniel Easley both of Decatur, Georgia.

Preceded in death by: one brother: Wesley L. McCollum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Southside Baptist Church of Vandalia or the American Diabetes Association, P O Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
