Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
Service:

Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 201 N. Jefferson Street.
Officiating will be: Rev. Helen McFarland.
Music provided by: Ellen Roy - soloist and Marilyn Love - pianist.
Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Andrew Fletcher, Brent Davis, Drake Hopke, Larry Kirtlink, Calvin Heaton, Mike Potter, Joey Hamlett and Gary Jennings.

Betty Lou (Mitchell) Davis passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Missouri. Betty's lived most of her life in Vandalia, graduating from Vandalia High School in 1951. After high school, she worked at Ennis Implement until she and Vic married in 1954. Betty and Vic lived in South Dakota from June 1954 until December 1955 while Vic was serving in the Air Force. After moving back to Vandalia, she became a full-time homemaker with their two children. Betty worked as the Vandalia United Methodist Church secretary for over 20 years, retiring on December 31, 1995. She enjoyed going to garage and yards sales, reading, attending Vic's Air Force reunions and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Born: August 6, 1933 in Buell, Missouri the daughter of Roy Lee and Frankie Ann (Stotler) Mitchell Sr.

Married: Victor Albert Davis on June 6, 1954 in the Vandalia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: husband, Vic of Vandalia; one son: Doug K. and wife, Doris Davis of Jefferson City; one daughter, Vicki L. and husband, David Hopke of Vandalia; the family's foreign exchange daughter, Erika Hauss-Delker of Ludwigshafen, Germany; five grandchildren: Andrew Fletcher, Kaitlin Hopke, Brent Davis, Drake Hopke and Luke Davis; three great-grandchildren: Owen Fletcher and twins, Celia and Doreen Fletcher; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; three brothers: Eugene Mitchell, Donald Mitchell and Roy Mitchell Jr.; two sisters: Bonnie Heaton-Wear and Doris Allen.

Memorials are encouraged to the Vandalia United Methodist Church.
