Monday, May 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Curryville Baptist Church.
Officiating: Rev. Jerry Gamm & Rev. Jamie Franke.
Music:
Interment: Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Cody Ankrom, Josh Pease, Caleb Pease, Matt Traynor, Nicholas Exendine and Brian Crowder. Honorary pallbearers: Andrea Ankrom, Beth Traynor, Lucas Exendine and Danielle Crowder.

Eugene "Gene" B. Traynor passed away unexpectedly at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Gene attended schools and grew up in the Bowling Green area. He worked for a few years in a local grocery store and the shoe factory in Vandalia. Gene then started with Harbison Walker Refractories and worked primarily in the burning department. He retired after working there for over 40 years. During his many years at the brick plant Gene also farmed, and raised horses, goats and livestock. He was instrumental in starting the Tri-County Saddle Club in 1961 and served as its president for many years. Gene also served on the Pike County Mutual board and the Tri-County Care Center board. He enjoyed playing cards, breaking horses and watching the Cardinals and the Cubs. Gene loved spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.

Born: August 19, 1934 in Louisiana, Missouri the son of Miller B. "Podge" and Edith Marie (Dunn) Traynor.

Married: Erma Lee Cunningham in Vandalia on December 18, 1955.

Survivors include: wife, Erma of rural Vandalia; one son, Edward "Ed" E. Traynor of rural Middletown; four daughters: Karen Sue and Lyndell Ankrom of rural Middletown; Debra Ann and Darwyn Pease of rural Curryville; Pamela Kay and Todd Exendine of Sante Fe; Cynthia Lynn and Joe Crowder of rural Middletown; two brothers: Paul "Chip" and Sidney Traynor of Louisiana; Bill and Sandra Traynor of Bowling Green; one sister: Carol and Edsel Cunningham of rural Middletown; ten grandchildren: Andrea Ankrom, Cody Ankrom both of rural Middletown; Josh Pease of rural Curryville; Caleb and Sarah Pease of Bowling Green; Beth Traynor of rural Curryville; Matt Traynor of rural Middletown; Nicholas Exendine, Lucas Exendine both of Sante Fe; Brian Crowder of Vandalia; Danielle Crowder of rural Middletown.

Preceded in death by: parents; one grandson, Clint Rodney Ankrom.
